To Bathe, or Not to Bathe...

I enter the Bathroom,
with mixed emotions...
The warm bath has been prepared -
perfumed oils,
rose petals strewn atop the surface,
scented candles setting the mood,
with golden, flickering light,
and intoxicating spices that fill my nostrils...

The shimmering water is inviting -
the water's warmth will soothe all those muscles
made sore from the previous evening's love-making...
The shoulders, the hips, the knees...
Ahhh, yes...the knees...
still a strong reminder of my passion's duration...

 And the perfumed oils,
coupled with the melange of delicious scents
emanating from the candles,
seem likely to soothe my soul...

I should step into the tub eagerly,
anxious to soak my tensing muscles,
more than willing to cleanse my skin of sweat,
the dust of the day,
the residual scents of last nights love-tryst-
that incredible, blissful, ethereal union...

Her scent...
that musky, womanly scent...
still heady,
more intoxicating than any wine...
or any bottled perfume...

Her scent...
Our scent...
Our Love's juices combined...

it rises up from my groin...

It is Ambrosia...

 Ahh...
There's the rub...

I can't bear to wash away this wonderful trace of you...
of us...

 while you're still hours away.

I'll just wait a while longer...
'till you're home again...
Then we'll kiss -
I'll help you undress, my love...

And we'll enter the tub together,
the water renewed with warmth,
and let the magical bath
soothe body and soul...

 Then we'll wash each other,
tenderly, lustily,
and I'll let you cleanse away
our love juices from my body,
knowing full well...

Before we fall asleep in each other's arms,
I will be covered in our "Love Perfume"... again.
